The International Gastronomy Tourism Studies Congress is a prestigious scientific event that has been held annually since 2016 and brings together the disciplines of gastronomy and tourism within an academic framework.

The congress, which Balıkesir University first hosted, has been organized by the Tourism Faculties of Çanakkale, Kocaeli, Nevşehir, Sakarya, and Afyon Kocatepe Universities over the years, creating a wide academic interaction network. The congress, which could not be held in 2020 due to the global pandemic, maintained its continuity in the scientific world by being organized in Kastamonu in 2023 with the cooperation of Kastamonu University and Hacı Bayram Veli University. In 2024, it was held in Aydın Kuşadası, hosted by the Tourism Faculties of Aydın Adnan Menderes University and İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, and continued to provide important academic contributions in the field of gastronomy tourism. The congress encourages interdisciplinary cooperation with its hosts that changes every year and prepares the ground for the sharing of current research in the field of gastronomy tourism by bringing together expert academics and sector representatives.

The 9th International Gastronomy Tourism Studies Congress will be held between 9-11 October 2025, hosted by Kayseri University Faculty of Applied Sciences. We invite our entire academic community to Kayseri, the City of Gastronomy.
